It’s the end of the world as we know it… again
Good Omens has been a great show, with deep storytelling and sacrilegious explorations into parts of the Bible. David Tennant and Michael Sheen were absolute delights to watch, with their contrasting views of the world and the big plan from Heaven.
And now, Armageddon is here – in a rushed 90-minute episode.
The Finale
Aziphale (Michael Sheen, Showtimes’ Masters of Sex) is now the Superior Angel in Heaven, while Crowley (David Tennant, BBC’s Dr. Who) is left on Earth alone.

But their paths are reunited once Heaven’s Second Coming is set in place. However, the plan quickly falls apart after the newly resurrected Jesus is lost wandering London. The angel and demon reluctantly join forces again to save reality from non-existence.
One episode?
The final season is really a final episode. It’s noticeable, especially when a whole sub-story about a resurrected Jesus clueless on Earth was largely overlooked. Instead, Aziphale and Crowley are more concerned with a Book of Life, a book of all knowledge in existence but can be used to destroy all of existence.

You would think Jesus’ Second Coming would be a bigger deal…
Michael Sheen and David Tennant are great as they were before, but the episode barely explores their newer statuses after Season 2. Unfortunately, they quickly return to being their argumentative duo as they traverse heaven, Earth, and even Hell.
Neil Gaiman
The show creator and author, Neil Gaiman, was for under scrutiny for sexual allegations. He left the series after the allegations. So instead of cancelling the series, they gave it one last season but condensed it into one episode. While Gaiman wasn’t involved in the third season, he did have some credit in writing the episode.
The damage of turning this into a 90-minute episode of what was a season’s worth of content shows with everything happening too fast. Things like a resurrected Jesus left to just him learning the “Find the Lady” card trick, instead of, I don’t know, getting Jesus’ powers or something.
Not much of a revelation
It’s an unfortunate, rushed episode to end the series, but at least there’s closure instead of abandoning the show on a major cliffhanger. It’s not much of a closure, and the ending is just mediocre. Everybody’s happy, and happiness is happy, for happiness’s sake. Someone get Doom Guy over here; he has some angels and demons to slay.
